| Barrel Back Chair | ||

The Barrel Back Wing Chair (so called because of the
distinct fluted back that generously envelops the sitter) is a faithful
copy of a late 19th century chair, which in turn echoed a design fashionable
during the 18th century.
Each flute is individually stitched and stuffed with traditional materials. Old fashioned hessian, jute webbing, white cotton felt… these are just some of the materials employed in the upholstery of this handmade frame. The seat is coil sprung with no less than nine 7" springs carefully hand stitched in position to assure maximum comfort. The seat cushion stuffed with feather and down completes this magnificent chair standing elegantly on delicately hand carved ball and claw feet. Offered in our very special hand polished russet hide, fabrics from our extensive collection or customer's own material. |
